Archiving - Scanning the stuff
I’m fond of this method, to an extent.
I started by scanning in notes from older games, and filing them with Paperport, a document handling program that came with my scanner. This was years ago. The problem became dealing with the proprietary file type. So I exported all the stuff to PDF.
That worked pretty well, to […]

Archiving the Game
I’ve been packing up a lot of stray papers in the last few months, and many of them are related to previous games that I’ve run. This precipitated thinking about archiving.
It seems a crime to let your memories of a well-run game fall by the wayside. After all, it’s the memories that tie us together […]

Site Review - Kittens of Darkness
While I mostly play D&D, sometimes I wander afield to Old-style World of Darkness.
That in mind, let me recommend a favorite site for the skewering of WoD cliches:
Kittens of Darkness
This funny picture site (work safe, I promise) had me laughing for hours the first day I discovered it. It follows the path of the Successories/Motivational […]

Why Details are Important
Have you ever noticed what people really remember about a fantasy movie?
(Well, other than guys noticing shades of gratuitous nudity…)
It’s the stuff. It’s the details of a life that catch people. “Harry Potter is really cool, it’s about these kids in a magical school. They have magic wands and cauldrons and pet owls….” Butterbeer and […]

Intro to Lockpicking for Rogues
Locksport International - this site has a pdf manual with excellent instruction on how to pick a lock. I thought it might be interesting for wanna-be rogues to know what goes into their art.
