Archiving - The Bulletin Board

Another option we’ve tried is the bulletin board. This can work well, and we still have an active board for our game. There are some limitations, and these have led me to explore other options.
1) Bulletin boards by their very nature are sequential, and difficult to organize.
2) It is difficult (okay, it was for me) to restore a broken board.
3) Boards require a lot of active management.
On the other hand, most players are familiar with boards, and know how to post.
Over the long haul of a few years, I decided that the board wasn’t working all that well as an archive. As an active gaming tool, it works well. We still use the board, but for archiving, we’ve moved on to the wiki. Our reasons and lessons learned will be the next post.
