Quick and Easy Costuming - The Boot-Top
Posted by gm under Uncategorized
To transform an ordinary pair of boots into a pair of pirate boots, get two strips of suede-like cloth long enough to wrap well around the boots loosely, and four long thin strips of cloth to match. Also you’ll need four medium sized butterfly clips, like you’d find at an office store.
Wrap the long thin strips around the butterfly clips so that the clips themselves are covered in the cloth. Take a boot wrap strip, and wrap it around the top of the boot leaving about an inch or so at the top. Fold the extra into the top of the boot, and secure with one clip on the inside of the bootleg. Place the other clip on the outside to secure the wrap in place. Do the same for the other boot.
This isn’t by any means a permanent creation, but it can be made so with some glue or stitching.
