Quick and Easy Costuming - The Boot-Top
To transform an ordinary pair of boots into a pair of pirate boots, get two strips of suede-like cloth long enough to wrap well around the boots loosely, and four long thin strips of cloth to match. Also you’ll need four medium sized butterfly clips, like you’d find at an office store.
Wrap the long thin […]

New Feature - ‘Quick and Easy Costuming’
After attending yet another costume-focused convention, I feel compelled to dig into the costume trunk and see what I can put together. I’ll post costuming ideas, tips, and construction ideas here. New Feature - ‘Quick and Easy Props’
Props add a great deal of excitement to the gaming experience. Which is more interesting - discussing playing a game, or actually playing it? Being told what’s on the Wanted poster for your character, or actually having a copy to stick in with your character sheet?
With that in mind, there will be a regular new […]

How to get the most out of a convention, pt 2
When you’re planning your events, and your dinners, and your cab rides (if you’re lazy like I occasionally am), be sure to plan the TIME. Dragon*Con was an excellent example of a convention with a ton of great events and not nearly enough time for them all.
While you’re at it, make sure you leave enough […]

How to get the most out of a convention
Con Season is mostly over for us this year, but that doesn’t preclude the possibility you have a new convention coming up. Accordingly, here are my pointers for getting the most out of any convention (not just gaming ones).
First - get the program. Yes, the program. Cons have one. They usually shove it into your […]
